FAQ
Auction
It can take anywhere from 5-15 days for cars to be deregistered, inspected and delivered to ports in Japan from the Auction houses. Shipping times from Japan to Auckland, NZ are 15-20 days. Onwards trucking or Transhipping to other ports and destinations can add 5-15 days. We recommend that you allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.
Registration
All Deregistration documents are sent to SBL from Japan. Once we receive full payment from our customers for the vehicles they have purchased, the Deregistration documents or MR2A (if the car has been Complied) are sent to the customer.
If you have lost or forgotten your password please call the SBL offices (03 377 6578) to have it reset. Also if you are experiencing difficulty in accessing the site, again please call the office to have your access resolved.
Fees
All vehicles must be paid for in full within 7 days of receiving the Final Invoice, which is issued at point of arrival. For SBL Finance customers, payments are due as per their respective individual credit terms. Vehicle Dereg or MR2A’s will be sent to customers upon receipt of full payment.
A Purchase Confirmation will be sent to you within 2 working days of successful purchase of a vehicle at auction. This document will cover the vehicle details along with the sold price. Final tax invoicing for purchases are sent out to all customers the week shipments arrive into New Zealand.
Vehicle
Once your vehicles have been confirmed onto a vessel, you will receive an ETA by email. Also these ETA’s will be added to your vehicles that are located on your Stock page under your name on the SBL website. If the ETA’s change or are updated then you will receive further notifications and the Stock page will also be updated.
Yes we can sell vehicles Complied, Serviced, Delivered. This is not our preferred method of sale as many of our customers prefer to arrange this themselves and retain control over the related costs.
Yes you can print your Odometer Certificates yourself. Follow this link (www.jevic.co.nz) once there, type in the Chassis number of your vehicle, check that it is the right car and then print it off.
It is the Japanese vehicle owner’s obligation to pass on all spare keys or parts to the Auction house following the sale of their vehicle. In some cases this does not happen so SBL cannot guarantee that vehicles noted as having spare keys or parts, will actually arrive with the spare key. SBL will forward to its customers all spare parts that do arrive.
