Graham Beirne

Graham Beirne is one of New Zealand’s original pioneers of Japanese vehicle importing. At just 25, he co-founded Smithburn Motors with Ian Smith, launching from a 10-foot caravan on Moorhouse Avenue. That spark of entrepreneurial grit led to decades of growth including the creation of Integrity Cars, which became the country’s largest importer of Japanese vehicles, with three retail yards and a high-volume wholesale division.

Now a Director at SBL, Graham brings unmatched industry knowledge, financial acumen, and a passion for evolving the car import model. Though semi-retired, he remains fully invested in SBL’s growth and the industry he helped shape.
